About Bruce Allen

Bruce Allen has been in the forefront of electronic entertainment and content delivery for the past 30 years. Under his team-building leadership Interlink has participated in the planning, building and launch of more than 25 national television networks in the USA, Europe, Mexico and Latin America. Interlink has managed hundreds of millions of dollars in projects and generated tens of millions of dollars in revenue from clients that include Time Warner, Vulcan Ventures, Bloomberg TV, Fox, Central European Media Enterprises, Multimedia-Gannett, TV Globo, RRSat-SES and many others.

Bruce Allen’s career started in the late 1970’s at WNET TV, NY and WPIX TV, NY, where he wrote for and produced local news; In the 1980’s, as the founding Manager of Network Operations for Cable Health Network he worked with the delivery of programming and data over satellite; He was founding Vice President for Operations, Engineering, and Production for Lifetime Television where he supervised the Network’s launch and roll out via satellite to thousands of cable systems; At Request Television Mr. Allen presided over the advent of satellite-delivered Pay-Per-View as founding Vice President for Operations and Engineering where he pioneered the first commercial, television network encrypted satellite transmissions; As the President of Atlantic Satellite Communications, a major satellite facility serving the New York Metropolitan Area, Mr. Allen engineered the acquisitions and rapid growth which eventually positioned the company as the lead in a group of companies sold to Liberty Media for over $100 million. In 1991 Mr. Allen formed Interlink Network Corp. to provide experienced and innovative technical and operational solutions for broadcast, cable, satellite, direct to home, Internet and private networks. Interlink continues today to pioneer in and incorporate the latest advances in technology and workflow management. Its most recent launches for NY based QPTV and for Fox Sports Latin America feature non-linear, tapeless, file-based workflow and the launch for Fox Sports Latin America also included MPEG 4 HD transmissions over satellite to cable headends in Mexico and South America.

Mr. Allen founded Interlink High-Speed Technologies (HST). HST provided world-wide satellite data casting services to IBM’s PC Division. HST delivered the huge, custom software files and operating systems which were loaded on the hard drives of new PCs at the IBM factory in China. Up until 2007 (when IBM sold the company) some 75% of all PCs built by IBM had hard drives loaded with software from the satellite delivery system developed and managed by Interlink HST.

Mr. Allen holds a Degree in Broadcasting from New York University and is a member of SMPTE, Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers.
